I agree with everyone. I have made quilts where I have either hand stitched binding on the front or made a decorative stitch on the binding in the front. Both looked great and had mitered corners too. Let yourself and the quilt rest this weekend and finish your work of art. This is just an opportunity to see that there are other ways of finishing a binding. Happy quilting!

I do it that way all the time too...I'm a lousy hand sewer so i sew the binding onto the back first and then use a decorative stitch to sew the binding to the front.

By the way, I did exactly what you did, and I ripped it out. After I saw the second video, I would use it if I did the same thing again.
