Anyone can buy the upgrade if you have EQ or not. They don't care who pre orders the upgrade or how many. Only EQ 5 registered owners can get EQ7 for the $130 price.

My understanding and conversation with EQ for the ungrade to work, you have to have put in the serial number from EQ6 when you load EQ7, but it does not have to be actually loaded on your computer. The upgrade is a stand alone.

When I bought the upgrade for 6...I had to have 5 loaded on the computer. This will be much better if I get to remove the other 2 programs...they are huge and take up quite a bit of room!!

Well I took the plunge this morning and pre-ordered it. For $58 you really cannot beat that price. I use my EQ6 quite a bit so I cannot wait to see what the new version can really do.

If EQ7 is stand-alone and you purchased the Upgrade from EQ6, would you uninstall EQ6. The website said you could import projects from 6 into 7. Would you need to keep both or import EQ6 projects over and then uninstall 6.

KiwiQuilter - if you were to purchase, would you deal direct with Electric Quilt or look for local supplier?

I emailed Electric Quilt yesterday with just that question. They said they will have all that info about how to save projects, fabrics and photos to your EQ7,
when the program comes out. They are in the process of getting all that typed up.

I have only order from Electric Quilt. But it will be able to deal with all thoes issues.
