This is very beautiful, I would stitch in the ditch to quilt this. Or you could even use a zig zag stitch with the dark green to accent. If you use a zig zag stitch or fancy stitch you can't go wrong to outline your stars. As for the binding the way I do it is stitch to the back of the quilt then wrap around to the front and use a decorative or zig zag stitch on the top. Again the special stitches cover up the few places where it's not exactly straight. I love to use the special stitches I think they actually look great. I will try to take a picture of the latest one I just finished with lots of fancy stitches.
