I like the idea of some kind of white in that middle to echo the white in the plaid.

The words "Just having the plaid as the "busy" bit. Was part of my deciion on what to do. Thanks a lot earthwalker.

I'd find a floral that is closer in tone to the plaid. Take a piece with you when you go shopping.

Scissor Queen The words "floral mauve" didn't really realize thats what color it was.   Thank You

Whatever the colors, I love the idea! I would not have thought of doing something like that. Think I will download your picture, if you don't mind, so that I can reference it when I get some free time

After reading all of the posts Pzazz idea work. I love it now. I did rip out the middle floral and put in this white. Didn't do much damage to it. But the White on White I do love it.
    Thank you Pzazz
Here is a picture of the difference. Tried to do 2 but said I had an error.

I Thank all of you for your ideas, I looked at each and tried each suggestion that I could use. The White on White just complimented the Plaid. Thanks again BillsBonBon

placemat after ripping out the middle. Still don't know how I managed that one.
