I am on my second T-Fall iron and I love it it does have auto shut off but fast recovery as I leaved mine plugged in most of the time and with water in it I get 5 years out of one with tap water and if I bought bottled water probably much longer I threw 3 Rowenta in the garbage also the T-Fall has very powerful syeam I got mine at Target for 35,00 dollars

I have a Hamilton Beach. I like the weight, the pointy tip, but when it shuts off it is hard to restart and when it is on, it cools down too much before it begins to reheat. I think it must have something to do with the thermostat--anyway, it is a pain!

Thrift store finds are the best. They are old, heavy and work! And they don't shut off automatically. I have several in my collection, assumably so when one quit I could just throw it away and reach for another. So far, I'm still on the first one since the expensive Rowenta would not stop leaking water all over everything. What a waste of money that was.
