Question I need some ideas on finishing this panel?????

I found this stashed away from many years ago & would like to finish it. I was thinking of outline quilting this. What do you think & to what detail, and what about thread color or colors?? Thanks, as I know you guys are great quilters & have some great ideas.

Do you have the skill level to do some thread painting type work in the wings and some leaves? I don't, but I think it would be beautiful if you could do it.

Yes, I totally agree that some thread painting work on the wings and leaves would be stellar. If you do thread painting on the wings, I'd try to use a thread that is sparkly. Outline quilting for the rest, a small stipple in the white area and maybe a vine and leaf design in the border would be lovely. I'd outline the borders. It would be gorgeous done that way.

Outline stitching around everything would work. Thread painting some of the panel features would be pretty also.

If you are comfortable using metallic thread I would use an opalescent one.

I think silver thread painting would be great for the wings

I agree with DebbE. Sounds like it will be beautiful. And maybe add some crystals to the centers of the flowers.

Yes, I agree with everyone! Outlining and thread painting would look lovely. Please post the finished piece.
