Has anyone gotten the invitation to join the Quilters Club in the mail? It's from Fons & Porter and is $29.95 + $5.00 s/h. It's good for one year. According to the insert in the envelope, the benefits are:

    free QNNtv.com Sampler Dvd
    free access to QNNtv.com
    free patterns
    free projects
    exclusive subscription to Easy Quilts
    esclusive contest
    exclusive discounts
    esclusive cash rebates
    +more (not listed)

I have gotten it twice in the mail and am wondering if it is a good deal or not. The benefits sound good, but I guess I just can't decide. I am among those who are letting their subscriptions go and I'm thinking that this deal is a lot cheaper in the long run compared to all the magazines I took. If anyone has signed up for this or knows anything about it, please share?

i had thought about this but when i really started thinking about the benifits i did not think i would really take advantage of enough of them to make it pay for itself. most of the stuff you can already get for free and as far as watching the show? well, if you tend to be on the computer watching utube videos or others frequently it may be worth it...i would miss most of the shows. so after tossing it around for weeks i finally just decided to not waste my money on another year long subscription that 2 or 3 months from now i probably will not even look at. i am sticking to my guns and not subscribing to any year long anythings for awhile, it has seemed like such a waste in the past couple years. there are so many different free sites. the first year Alex Anderson and Ricky Timms had the quilt show i joined...but i really did not have time to put in too much. if you are a stay at home person with lots of time on your hands it may work out better for you, but for me, i just do not have time to keep up with it all, it is much easier to just go find what i want for free, when i want it, not when someone else makes it available.
just my feelings on the matter.

I agree. It was hard for me to find $30 worth of benefit for me personally. For other quilters it may be well worth it. I just don't have enough time to watch all the show and participate in the other things.

I belonged to this before I found you guys. I get more out of this forum. And don't have to pay for it. I also feel that most videos you can find on you tube or connecting threads, Again no money spent. I no longer belong to it. When I didn't re subscribe they kept sending me old post I answered or posted. No new entries. I guess they were showing me what I was missing. Asked a couple of questions that were never answered. Just my opinion and experience.
    Hope this helps.

I had been a "member" and let it lapse after the 2nd year. I rarely watched the videos. Hung out here mostly and learned so much more---Thanks everyone!!! Cheaper too!

However, you may enjoy it and get more out of it. If you feel you can part with the $$ and not feel it, try it.

I continue to get mail to rejoin. Guess once on the mailing list, always on. I'm sure it'll take an act of Congress to get off of it once I request it. Not worth the trouble, I won't even get into my mail delivery to see that it actually gets sent to begin with.

Thanks for the imput. I wondered if it was really worth it. I tend to get excited about things and after awhile regret that I spent the $$ for it and realized that I didn't really get anything out of it. You are both right, this board is more informative.

I have a different opinion. It is worth the money for me to see the new Quilt It! shows. I can watch them over nad over and it is the only place I know of where they are shown.

I was a member and didn't get a lot out of it. There is more info on this board. I let it lapse.

I join QNN TV alone. It's great to go to the videos any time. The Quilter's Club is not worth the extra money to me. Most of the free patterns are patterns you can get free from the fabric manufacturer's website. I never received anything exclusive for being a member.
