I can see all the work you put into all those hexis- you are a good friend indeed! I was thinking the animal was a sheep as well. I like the butterfly idea citruscountryquilter suggested!

I think so too. How about just stitching a heavy outline of the eyelid with eyelashes - to my mom's dismay my dolls were never played with! Didn't realize it till I was older - it was the eyes!

I think smaller lady bugs if you decide to use them, maybe orange with black polka dots, and much further away from the sheep. I think they are too close. A couple of petty butterflies might be better than lady bugs.

    You wanted honesty...
I'm glad you described the sky, grass, "sheep" (which i thought was some kind of alien figure - sorry - or Pokemon character) and your ideas for machine embellishments, which I think will help a lot!!! I'm sure the photo doesn't do justice to your work so far.

The ladybugs seem to be too "red" or bright and do detract from the sheep. Perhaps a lighter red, not necessarily pink, but a lighter rust (ladybug color) to keep it in the pastel range...maybe ask her to pick out that color too, as it seems she does like pastels... this is a baby quilt, right???

Of course, "when in doubt, leave it out"...so you could leave out the bugs and concentrate on the sheep (hope there's fluffy, curvy machining on or around his/her textured body) And the eyes need reworking as someone earlier mentioned.
    Good luck.

I love the crossed eyes of the sheep, looking at the close-up ladybug! Maybe a much smaller ladybug, perched prominently on a semi-bright/deep pastel FMQ flower, would give the life you're trying for, along with a few more scattered flowers, with or without more ladies on them. Ladybugs crawl on grass stems, too, so sprinkle a few wherever they look good after the quilting. They could even be quilted in with just some red thread.

Note to self. Buy your own fabric for the pattern, put her fabric away for future projects.

I would rather see some blue and green quilting to define the background and maybe some black around the sheep to help them stand out. Don't care for the lady bugs.....being honest.
