I couldn't agree more! I love the patterns that you download - free shipping! Hoorah!

The shipping costs have kept me from spending money more than once. SOmetimes the shipping has been more than the item, and that is just plain ridiculous. I recently bought a foot for my Kenmore from Sears, and they first sent a Fed Ex package with just a piece of paper saying the item was being shipped. Then, the next day this BIG box arrives with the little foot in it. The foot was $7.99. The whole bill was over $16. They sent an email confirmation. They could have sent the foot in a bubble envelope for a few dollars, and the whole thing would have been about $10.

And they wonder why they are losing money? Sheesh.

Shipping costs make me change my mind on a lot of things.

I agree that shipping costs are a necessary evil, but sometimes it is just way too much. If I get to check out and the shipping is more than I am willing to pay, I put the order on hold and either e-mail or call the company and ask if they can do better. You would be surprise how many times they are able to reduce the shipping.

I'm still uncomfortable about a similar decision. I wanted to send a small 'thank you' to someone on the Board until the cost of postage was $20 on top of the gift - so it sort of defeated the purpose.

Cabbage Rose has it for 9.25 per yard and shipping costs are adjusted to actual postage, no handling fees.

    A better deal all around.

I know how you feel. The shipping is a deal breaker for me. I found some fabric I had been looking for forever and they were going to charge $15.95 for UPS Ground. I was buying 4 or 5 yards. I even called the store to see if they would ship USPS priority mail or flat rate which would have been half the cost and they said NO, we don't ship that way, the price is the price, with USPS you have no way of tracking... I said thank you and hung up.

Sometime we just have to stand up and be strong.
