Oh hats off to you, If I had money I would love to buy fabric, as is I go and tortore myself. I don't have money but every once in a while I go look at the fabric, yes it hurts to walk and drive, but sometimes I need to get out of the house. and they have this beautiful purple fabric I go look at all the time. but its 8.99 a yard. congrads on your control. You did soooo much better than I did last week. Went in for the large cutting mat (50% off) and some thread.....$200.00 later I came out of the store and had to use the cart to get it all to my car!
Great deal but oh my......I was so bad!!!!! tee hee

True confession time. I am SO powerless!!
A couple of weeks ago, three women here in work asked me to teach them quilting. How could I say no?! I knew about the BIG Joann's sale last week and kept warning them that that was the week to get the basics, especially big ticket items like the mat, ruler, and rotary cutter. They committed to the class on Friday so we went shopping. I was so good -- didn't buy a thing. That day.
Saturday. Went to the Joann's near home. Decided that if I was going to teach a class, I'd better get a duplicate set of everything so I could leave it at work and not lug it back & forth. Ohhhhhh, so bad! About $200 later, I had everything from a new rolling machine case to a bunch of fat quarters I really didn't need. Fortunately, EVERYTHING, even things not marked, was on sale. I couldn't even use the coupons I had.
My daily mantra is now "STAY AWAY FROM JOANN'S.... STAY AWAY.."

I too went to Joanns, but did NOT restrain myself very well! I needed grommets for some family room curtains I was making....got those and 10 patterns! The McCalls patterns were on sale for 99 cents EACH!!!! There was a limit of 10, so I filled my limit! I then had to go back the next day (didn't buy enuf grommets), and bought 7 more patterns! :)

I stop at least once a week. Don't buy necessarily just stop to look. I had an owners class Friday night and couldn't stand it so I bought some fat quarters. In my area Joann's is the only game in town. Our local Walmarts have quit carrying fabric. I drove 2 hours just to find a quilt shop that sold crayon quilts.
