So sorry you had such a frustrating day. I totally understand that can happen speaking from experience but your block turned out so beautiful. Aren't these board members fantastic!!!! Sometimes when I get in an over whelming situation like you did then I just walk away and do something else and then go back and the instructions seem so much clearer.

Is this a free online pattern? Where can I find it? Love the fall colors (I would use it year round at my house). We live in the woods and stare at the leaves all day.

The pattern is Summers End. It is in McCall's Quilting Sept 2018. The Quilting Company also has kits with batik fabrics which is what I purchased. Block 2 only took me 2 hours to complete and was much easier. Here it is. I love these fabrics!

Look how lovely that block is!
This thread really made me feel good, I really appreciate all of you on the board and the helpfulness and opposing points of view as well.
Paper piecing is not one of my strong suits. As always I'm getting better with practice but it is not how my mind works.

I love reading the digest late in the day and seeing how a "hot mess" got all worked out so beautifully while I was off in the sewing room making my own version of a hot mess (fixed with a seam ripper). Your quilt will be gorgeous!
