I keep checking too....so hoping that they make it in time for Christmas...i think they will...but even if they don't this was all about letting these great guys know that when they wrap these quilts around them it is a hug from people back home - people they don't know and will most likely never meet - who are thinking about them and really care about them. Can't wait to see the pictures Bluelady has promised!!

Quilt-T, I know your quilt arrived a few days ago. The others are all in transit. I am on pins and needles hoping to hear they have arrived!
And we have told Aly's husband numerous times .. WE NEED PICTURES!
Aly has also told the staff Sergent's wife to remind her husband to get those pictures!

Over her we make quilts for our solders in care but never know who receives them. What a brilliant idea to match soldier, quilt and maker all in one go . I wish I knew who had received mine as it was made with love and care. Over here my friend and I spent 2 hours travelling to a group who were putting quilts together. Tops were donated and backing and wadding,. On the day a room full of over 50 ladies met armed with sewing machines and thread and spent the day sandwiching and free motion quilting them together. My friend and myself took ours home and arranged to send them back as we did not have time to finish the binding by hand. These were all taken to a hospital for injured soldiers.

Oh, boy! Now in really anxious to know how he liked it!! I am so glad that it got there. I know that they usually take around 10-14 days from APO to APO, so that's normal timing. Maybe I should have held off mailing a little longer so that it didn't arrive so much sooner than the others did? Hindsight?!?! Come on with the pictures!!!!!

I think Walter is holding them til they all get there to be handed out all at once. I just heard my box arrived yesterday, so there is only one more big box to get there, the one Aly mailed out. My box was sent Priority and it took almost three weeks. So Aly's box with all the others should arrive by Friday we hope!

Okay. Three boxes have arrived. Aly had to send two boxes, and we know one has arrived. (Walter, her husband, had to open it.. mainly because he knew there would be cookies in one of the boxes too) Aly reminded Walter that we must have pictures! Once the last box arrives, (or on Christmas Day) Walter will hand out the quilts. I am soo excited! I can't wait to see the pictures.
