I always use a light weight fabric to sew my 1.5 -2 inch strings on. I always try to sew four squares with the same or similar colored string in the centre. These four squares sewn together form a diamond.

    Great idea!
Would you please show us some photos of some you have made?

Have you always kept with a good contrast for the centre strip/block?
Or do you sometimes go with less contrast? or even a multi-colour print?
Thinking ahead here, about a piece of fabric I have .....

I usually choose a light and a dark (what was I thinking fabric) for my center strings. This way I have some light and dark diamonds. Sorry no pictures as I donate them as soon as I finish. I try to keep my center string 2 inches. It really stands out with my 1.5 inch strings. The center string fabric isn't used anywhere else in that quilt. I just seem to have to have some control.LOL.

I am liking this idea ..... and can see doing something along this line. Sometime!
Of course, I need another project to jump into and stagnate more of the others!!!
