Now that I'm 60-something, the gkids no longer wear Grammie's home made things so I started watching EB, F&P, Sewing with Nancy, Martha Pullen, anything I can to learn what I can about designing and making quilts. I live in Northern KY now so might just have to take a trip to Paducah one of these days!
I hope you enjoy your being tall. My daughter is 6' tall and is proud of it. Her daughter will be at least that tall. I just got back from Lithuania where there are very many tall women; and men, too.

And I always enjoyed watching EB on TV.

I hope my fellow Kentuckians were good to you and that you enjoyed your entire time in the Bluegrass! I live in Bowling Green and went to college at UK in Lexington. Loved it!

Watching her on TV, was the first quilt lessons I had, and she made it easier.

Thank you everyone! I didn't stop in the Hancock's, though. I didn't even realize there were any out there until my last day in KY. I'll have to make another trip.

How I wish I could go! I met Eleanor at a quilt show several years ago, and she was such a lovely lady! She had a booth and her son Orion was there. She had to have been exhausted, but brightened up up with each visitor, offered to have pictures taken, chatted like we'd been friends for years. She is truly a wonderful lady! My first book was the log cabin tablecloth and Christmas tree skirt, and I made 3 tree skirts for gifts. Her instructions and diagrams were perfect, and I was hooked. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I think Eleanor Burns instructions with her quilt patterns are very easy to understand & do.
