I won from my local Quilt Shoppe, the use of either the Die Cutter or the AccuQuilt Go for one hour . I want to make use of this certificate, but I don't know what to cut, as I don't have any specific quilt in mind. I need your help. Should I use my stash or buy specific colors? Should I cut like Drestan Plate peices, hearts, teddy bears, something I can use for future projects. What would you do? Also I am new to this quilt board, and unfamilar with a lot of your abbrevations, do you have a list? I love this Quilting board. Thanks for your help.

I would be hunting through my books and patterns to see what I want to make next then shop my stash to find material and cut the pieces that would fit those patterns. Failing that or if I had more time on the machine, I would cut lots of 2 1/2" width of fabrics (WOF), 5" squares and 10" squares (if they go that big). It seems that most of the patterns use the 2 1/2" WOFs or 2 1/2" squares which are easy to make if the WOF is already cut. If you like to applique, look for patterns like the teddy bear, leaves, flowers, etc. and cut enough of those to make a quilt or two or three! I wouldn't buy new material if I could help it.

Congrats on your win and I'll be looking for pictures of what you create with your goodies!

Find a pattern that "speaks to you", pick out the fabrics that work with your pattern and go from there with your cutting. I would definately have a plan in mind before you go. Congrats on the win by the way !!

Congratulations! If it were me, I would cut pieces for a double wedding ring, because that is on my to-do list. Do you have a pattern you have shelved because it involves a lot of cutting? Do that!

    How Fantastic,
my thoughts, an hour goes by so quickly! make sure you know what your going to cut and have fabric pre cut into those widths and legnths and hour will go by so quickly. it would have been nicer of them to give you a couple of hours after all there machines aren't used all the minutes of a day.
if you were closer I would say come to my house and cut away on my equipment!i have the go machine and an altos.
Enjoy it and be well prepared.
