I would like to make a wider top to put on my ironing board
I would like to make a wider top to put on my ironing board. Could anyone direct me to a site or give me information on how to do this. I think you use a piece of plywood and put some stoppers on each side but I am not sure, any help would be appreciated.

We took an old wooden ironing board and put a bigger piece of plywood on it to make it nice and big. We just nailed it together, but of course, you can't do that if your board is metal. It is awesome having a big wide board.

My husband cut a piece of plywood, covered it with batting using a staple gun, then covered it with muslin using a staple gun. I just wanted something I could sit on the ironing board and remove when I was'nt using it. I like it!

There is (or was) a pattern (2004) from a company to make a oversize pressing surface. Press-Express, from Hedgehog Quilters by Terry Albers, 2570 Carmel Lane, Green Bay, Wi 543--5256 (920) 469-1035. www.hedgehogquilts.com or [email protected]. I got this info of the back of the pattern. It's no real hard, and I don't remember it being real expensive for the materials needed. SO and I got it made in a day.
Hope the pattern is still available
