I saw some material I would like to use to embroider flowers on. I would cut out the squares, use my Melco Amaya XT to do the embrodery and then put squares together to make the quilt. Since I am new at quilting do you think this idea would work or would it look silly? ;-)

I have seen pictures of quilts on this board that were embroidered blocks made into a quilt - and they didn't look silly at all! They looked beautiful!

Thanks for the encouragement. I will have to go buy the material now and see what I can do. Do you ever have these ideas of what things might look like running through your head when you just look at a piece of material?

I bet it is going to be beautiful. Any material that makes such an impression and causes ideas to form has got to be worth making into a quilt.
