At a recent garage sales I was able to rescue an old quilt. Not sure if the stains on the back are from someone putting bleach in the washer and some of the fabric discolored to the back. Several blocks are torn with batting gone or protruding. Besides using it as a quilt what other uses could I use it for especially since I will have to cut it up.

Book covers, journal covers, checkbook covers, wallets, all the usual table stuff, iPod covers, glasses cases, there are a million uses for cut up quilts. (that darker stain on the back looks like mildew to me)

What a shame. Maybe placemats or a table runner is possible. There does seem to be some that could be salvaged into a small quilt.

That quilt has certainly seen some hard times. Glad you are rescuing it.

I found one at a church sale in similar condition I fixed the batting -hand stitched all that needed repaired while watching nite time TV Sprayed the backing with a good dose of Shout -it looked like some one sat it on top off new wet fading blue jeans. The Shout took out the stain.Well she looks like an older well loved quilt She's on my bed I've used her for the last 2 winters and I love how warm and cozy she keeps me Its sort of strange I've made at least 150 - 200 quilts and I have never made one for me and I sleep under a quilt from an unknown Quilter :-) But I love this old quilt
