We have a Monday night church quilt group. Lots of fabric has been donated but not much of it is yardage. We pick a block from Quiter's Cache for example and each member makes a block using the same directions. When all block have been made, we put them together and give them to church members with illnesses. We are working on the Starflower block now. Each chooses fabrics from our stash and it make a diverse colorful quilt. We have also cut 4 1/2 inch squares, sewn 12 of them together in a row. We then sew 15 rows together to make the quilt. This is also scrappy, bright, cheerful and everyone gets to contribute to it. Just a couple of ideas to think about.

Have each member make a favorite block out of the same colors. Blue/gold, Black/red, Yellow/green. We've done this several times in our Bee, it's a way to make a "controlled Scrappy".
