    Default ideas please??!?

Hi! I'm doing a jacket class and I have to bring my fabric cut, pieced and quilted to the class. We will then cut out the front, back, sleeves and pockets. The example I saw at the shop used strip of different lengths running vertical on the jacket. Please- what ideas do you have for piecing, other than strips? I'm using material from my kids old jeans and some blue batiks- at least that is the current plan. Thanks in advance. I get so many great ideas from this board!

I have been watching the Olympics. How about the, ' wickedly easy quilt' I'm sure those block arrangements are similar to the snowboarders.

I would use big blocks of fabric because the fewer seams in denim, the better. Also keep your seams away from the edges so they won't be double thick in the seams.

I have never made a quilted jacket but I think just 3" or 4" blocks would be cuter than strips.

I agree that if you're using denim go with bigger blocks because of the seams. You could always do a different color on each sleeve, one on the back and two different ones on the front.

I made a jacket in batiks using crazy quilt blocks. You would have to cut the pieces larger if you use denim.
