Ideas for quilting a 9 patch

I do all my curve quilting with a walking foot and marking my quilt. I usually use an air erasable marker and a template to mark. Mark in sections that can be completed in 15-20 minutes while the marking lines are still visible. I rarely quilt in straight lines and am more likely to use a walking foot than free motion.
