I have been sewing for more than 50 years (just realized that when I started reading this thread!) I would absolutely swoon if somebody gave me a paid of good (Gingher, etc.) scissors, either the larger fabric shears or the little 4" ones. She may be making do with ones she has had for years. IMHO, a pair of quality shears beats gadgets every time.

I am sure anything you buy her for sewing will thrill her. I personally love the gift certificates and many of my feet for my bernina have been bought with them. That makes my life as a seamstress easier and I like easy.

Also, I agree with the sets of threads from connecting threads. It is like a box of candy to someone who loves sewing.

I was gifted the Big box of clover clips and hate them. I keep trying to use them, but, they don't suit me so far at all a year later.

I haven't been sewing for 50 years, but I just told DH he could get me some plastic containers for organizing projects in. I tend to buy fabrics with a project in mind but nothing to keep them together in. Larger than shoebox size but not tote size.

Really like the thread idea. And now to google Bali Pops....

If she is a quilter, than new blades and a rotary cutter is always welcome.

If she lives in a colder climate-----a little snuggly cape to throw over her shoulders when she is working in the winter on a chilly day.

A small light box? I got one at a rummage sale and love it for tracing small patterns.
