It looks like it would be a good hand-piecing project.

I think it is made of - two shapes - an even sided diamond - 60-120-60-120 degrees - and a square with the same length sides as the diamond.

It could be constructed sort of as a "falling row" - and then the rows joined together. If the pieces are big enough, I think it could be machine sewn. Just have to stop 1/4 inch from the ends.

WOW! ...... I zoomed in on the picture at the beginning of this thread,
and could not see seams in the diamonds.
Your eyes are certainly better than mine.

I see them now too! (Looked at the close-up picture to see them though.) In that case I would probably paper piece the block to keep it from going wonky.

i still can't see them. it would definitely be easier to make that way... can be made in straight rows

Likewise .... nor do I see seams. I spotted some that I thought were seams, but were creases/cumples int he fabric.

Agree the seamed version would be much easier.
However, seams still show IMHO .... comparing two quilts of the two different methods, the one without would be much more showier!

I love this quilt and I don't care if the triangles have a seam because I just downloaded the free quilt pattern from Moda - Nature's Notebook! And I also wanted to give a quick "Howdy" from one Texas_Sue to another Txsue here in the DFW area.

Nice quilt but I have no idea of it's construction. I am sure someone on this board will help you out. Good luck

Complete pattern for the squares and triangles is in the free pattern from Moda (link in post #7 above). Just use framed squares to make the quilt shown.

To those who don't see the seams - I can't see them either in the original post, but in the quilts found online that look like this one, there are seams in the diamonds, and they refer back to the Moda pattern, which is constructed with seams in the diamonds.

I really like this design. Thanks, TxSue, for posting it.
