the last time I had a quilt done, I think it cost $165, Australian dollars
it was a big quilt though
I usually just get something all over, utility quilts don't need anything fancy

Prices sure are different all over the country. I pay $38+tx for a large lap size, with 2 backing color choices & many design choices at no extra charge. It takes about 3-4 weeks, except for Christmas when that time is doubled. It's a mom & daughter team and their shop stays very busy with 2 long arms going and a very small fabric selection. I do like to hand quilt the ones for my DD's though, they say it makes the quilts more special to them.
