If you buy fabric online... (poll)
Does the name of the fabric line encourage you to look at that fabric? In other words, I am more apt to look at "wildflowers" but something named "cabbage and roses" I wouldn't. I would look at "phenomenal fall" but not "crab shack".
If I don't like the name, I won't even give it a chance (to make it into my house)
Anyone else do that?

Yes, I'm quilty as well. There's so many websites that by the time I find one that has reasonable prices I'm too tired and worn out to go through every crazy name. I'd rather go to Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics or JoAnns and get something I like because I can see it.

When I look for fabric online I am looking for something specific usually. Names don't concern me overmuch. Some times that "cabbage rose" turns out to be a really lovely fabric. There are always surprises out there!

Unless I am looking for a specific collection or line, price is what motivates me to 'look'. I just paid LQS price for a meter of 'can't wait MUST have it for a class and it MUST match fabric ($15.49) The biggest drawback with online shopping, is that you never get a true colour from their photos or your own monitor. Once that drawback has been overcome, I think our LQS's will all be history. I know that I can't pay that kind of money for all the fabric for a queen sized quilt.

I'm afraid I don't even notice the names - poor, sad fabric marketers! I don't pay attention to their efforts!! To narrow the field of online fabrics I usually start somewhere like Hancock's of P and visit the discount bins. I am always finding great stuff at good prices in those bins...and it keeps the number of items I'm viewing down to a manageable level. If I find something I like but want to see it in a different color then I might start using the name of the fabric line, but only as a search tool.
(And if I do a search and have eighteen pages to scroll through, I tend to retreat from the field of battle. Especially if it is a website that won't let me choose how many images to view on a page.)

I have bought from Connecting Threads and Joanns on line. I always look at all the fabrics, kits too. I always want to see everything they have before I make a choice. Names don't make a difference to me.
