I do that every day anyway, only without the thirty bucks and with 20% off. :-D I bought fabric today for a new baby quilt...we just got some BEAUTIFUL batiks in, and I snatched some of that up. Found this wonderfully adorable print with little hearts on a tan background, but the colors just didn't work. Will have to figure out something else to do with it. Those of us that work there have the advantage of each having a space where we can cut off fabric for ourselves and ferret it away until payday, so we know it will be there when we can finally buy it. And every one of us (barring the couple in the store that don't sew or just really can't afford it) catches the 'gotta have it' bug at least once every other week. It's a wonderful thing. I told my husband that the moment we can comfortable afford all the bills and groceries, etc. on just his paycheck, I'm going in there with one of mine and splurging. :-D

If I'm shopping for something specific and i can't finish that project without it, and i have only a specific amount of money to spare, then i shop for that something specific and drag myself past everything else.
mind you, it's traumatic and i usually need three days to recuperate, but a quilter's gotta do what a quilter's gotta do.

Well, since I only need a FQ, I'd look around and blow the whole wad and probably more! Quilting is my therapy and shopping for quilt-related stuff is part of that therapy, so I wouldn't want to mess with my therapy, would I?

I did something like that last night! Needed binding & appliques. I went in, the fabrics were crying out my name, but I went to the other side, got what I needed...then..what's that I see? Fat qtrs...Christmas fat gtrs!! I limited myself to two so I could sneak them past my DH & ran for the door! Cost me $14.00 at the checkout, but this morning I patted my new acquisitions & hid them amongst all the others I have. All is right with the world! LOL! :-)

Do I only have $30 period, or just $30 to spend in the QS?
If its $30 period, I get what i came for. If that is just my budget for the store, I get what I need and maybe a little extra pretty if I have $$ left over.

Now if I could just save it long enough to get that new sewing machine with all the fancy do-hickeys....
