    It won't gum up your needle if you let it dry well but it might break your needle if you leave
    big lumps of glue. Ask me how I know. Smear it or thin it down with some water.
    Start with half/half.

    Has anyone tried basting a quilt using Elmer's glue spray (equal parts of glue and water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle)? Wondering if this would work?

    This Elmers glue is boon to most of the sewing I do, not only on quilts, but to holding pockets in place for aprons, keep covering in place when adding cording to pillows to match quilts. I always let it dry overnight, and am sure to spread out any globs that happen. good luck with your project!

    I use 505 with no problems it doesn't make blobs
