I have bought some of the Ikea cotton, they were both solids, and they were for baby quilts.

While the fabric isn't as soft as quilter's cotton after a few washes it softens right up. I've also used the thicker fabric to make an Amy Butler Nappy bag for my cousin and she loves it.

Our granny is 90 and when she went back to Australia to see her family, she actually hid the bag from Granny... Granny would want to copy the pattern and then set up a booth at
some market somewhere sell so she'd have more money for the casino!!! She'd also want me to send her to send her the fabric.

You can't beat the prices either. In Canada the most expensive fabric is $9.95/m.

Candace- Check it out. I think the stuff I have is home dec. I can't remember precisely, but I'm pretty sure it's 54", and it is a heavier weight cotton weave, but certainly not heavy like canvas, just a sturdy weight like a medium weight twill, and cotton, so not a dry clean fabric. I think they have lots of washable, because they cater to young families with kids and most of their stuff is wash friendly, that I've found.

Good to know. That makes sense. Thanks.
