I would try to sew another triangle to the left (bigger) one, as shown on the design. And would keep my fingers crossed it would end up the same size;-), because that way you 'loose' the extra fabric in the seem, I think anyway. Good luck.

I would sew that triangle on to another one, make the sq then sew that on to the side of your geese. The two triangles sewn together will make them the right size to sew onto the geese unit.

From Fabric 1: Patch B: 12 squares 2 7/8 x 2 7/8
From Fabric 2: Patch A: 16 squares 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 for flying geese
From Fabric 3: Patch C: 8 rectangles 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 for flying geese.
Ok....made those. Turned out well.
Next.....
Step 3: Cut 4 Fabric 1 B squares in half diagonally. Sew one of these triangles to each side of a Flying Geese unit as shown in Diagram 4. Make 4 pieced units like this.
Ok....here is a picture of my problem. A picture of my flying geese with the triangle next to it and if you look to the left you can see the Diagram 4 with shows you how it goes. My triangles are bigger than the flying geese and don't match up. Is this supposed to be this way? Should I cut the triangle down? Should I just go ahead and shoot myself and get it over with????

I think what you are seeing is the bunny ear of a seam allowance. The piece is the correct size for a 2" finished square. That extra is the 3/8" flap created by adding 7/8" to the finished size. If you were to draw lines that are 1/4" in from the edges, you would see that the piece is spot on for size. Just remember to rotate it 90° for proper orientation. You should be just fine.

I don't know the answer either, but I sure do know the problem, honey. Don't follow through on the shooting....if questions like this aren't asked, none of us newbies learn. Hang in there, some bright quilter will answer it, and you'll still be here not only to continue quilting but also to fix dinner tonight, LOL.
