What about applique of each sport in your fabrics. make each into a singlesheet or make individual blocks to give the resting point for the eye. Blocks could also be a 9-patch type quilt with 1-plain, 1-print, 1-plaiin with everyother row beginning with print of your fabrics. Again will give a resting point for the eye.

I like "Take 5" for a mixture of sports prints. The pieces are big enough to show the prints well.
