We have a friend who offered to do the work for us for free! Of course we'll give him something, but it won't break the bank. We're providing the materials. If I'm lucky, I'll have it before the local quilt show, but I'm not counting my chickens. I'm just ecstatic that I'm finally going to have one!!!!

I swear, I'm going to get mine done one of these days!

Hang it on the house, hang it on a fence, hang it on two posts!

We have no barn....but there's a big blank wall of our house that could fit about 4. I am not holding my breath....we have been here for about 14 years and still haven't finished renovating.

The only barn quilts I have seen are painted on the side of barns. Is this the same thing as you are getting? Sorry to sound so ignorant. I am a country girl now, but was raised in Brooklyn, NY so I guess you can't always take the city out of the girl! Love the way barns look with their painted quilts. Congrats on yours. Please post pix.

I swear Iam going to make one this summer. I am going to hang one on my patio. I also would like to hang a small one above my garage. Not sure how that will go over with DH yet. I need to make it first. I have paint, I can get the wood from my brother. I just need to decide on a pattern. The LQS has one I really like. I might go take a picture of theirs and change it up a little. I look forward to seeing yours.

Her is my barn quilt I painted. It's on the front of my quilt shop, I painted a different one one the back so I can turn it over. This is where I quilt, it is in a different building than my sewing shop.

I'm still waiting for my "Christmas gift" barn quilt!!! I picked the carpenter's wheel in honor o DH who is a retired carpenter. I'm thinking of changing the block if he doesn't get his butt in gear LOL

My MIL just sent me a pic of her new barn quilt!! I think it is funny because this is the only 'quilty'thing she will make because she says a needle and thread scare her!
Keep your fingers crossed that I can post the pic now!!
