I was just looking at a magazine at the store yesterday called, Where Woman Create. (I think) It was so beautiful. It had the work spaces of designers like Amy Butler and lots of others. I was going to buy it, but it was pretty expensive. But wow, it sure was full of ideas for work places.

Congrats! That will be nice to have your very own sewing space!

My dream is to have that one day too. I live in a 2 story house with a finished basement. I have sewing stuff on all three levels.

Please post pics when you can of your new space.

sometimes husbands do understand us! Mine transformed an empty bedroom and it's wonderful--if he's that handy he can make you custom cabinets for a fraction of the price Hahn's wants. Mine even make a sewing table with the exact cutout of my benina so I have a wonderful 3 x 5 foot flat sewing surface.

When we built our home 50 years ago, the architect put a sewing room in the plans. It was great That lasted six months when my DH decided to move his radio equipment in the same room. Reason......It was where the phone was.

As my four sons moved out I Moved from one bedroom to another until the sons at one time or another had to move back for money reasons.

They are all finally in their own homes and DH has passed on. I now have the Florida room which is 25' x25' all to myself and three empty bedrooms for the overflow. I'm in heaven. Of course, my family think I'm nuts to have so much fabric and so many machines. Their problem, not mine. My doctor says I'm not certifiable yet but maybe in another 20 years.

Congrats! I just got my own room a little over a week ago. We are now empty-nesters. Our kids both moved out within the last 2 months. My husband has his den and I have my sewing room. I used to have the basement which wasn't too bad. I had lots of room - I had 3 6' tables so I could spread out my projects, but it was also kinda damp and musty down there.

We're so lucky. Florida doesn't have basements usually. Just heeeeeeeaaaaaattttt. Oh yes and a hurricane once in awhile. If you have lived in Florida as long as I have, you learn to stay in the air-conditioning and how to duck for storms.
