i've htought about joining a quild, but don't want to take time away on the weekends, so need to find one that meets during the week.

Congrats Sara! It's great that you already know some ladies, and they can introduce you to some more. :D
I've done the Weaver Fever quilt (well, it's STILL a top :wink: ). It isn't too complicated, but be sure you keep your sections in order!

I like my quilt guild. They are all very nice. I even met a lady there that does longarm quilting for the public. She did my dh's Texas Tech quilt.
I made a quilt using that pattern in blues and yellows. It turned out very pretty. My dil's mom loved it. I think the colors you chose will be beautiful.

You should have a great time. Quilters are most friendly people. If the quilting police do show up, just tell them you are not in their jurisdiction. LOL.
