If I had to hide anything I bought from DH, he'd soon be an ex-DH. Trust and respect and honesty have been the basis of our 41 year marriage. I truly feel sorry for people that have to hide something from a partner; something that brings them joy. This is not a partnership or a marriage. Sorry--this just really bothers me and gets me on my soapbox! Don't mean to offend anyone.

I'm with JanRN. This has bothered me a little since I read it yesterday. My wonderful husband and I have been married 60 years. He was 18 and I was 17). If I hid fabric from him I would wonder what he was hiding from me!!
He will sit in the car and read or nap while I am in a quilt shop........but then I do the same for him when there is a gun show he wants to go to.

No I don't hide mine either I have all the closets except mine filled with fabric and he doesn't mind. His clothes (Shirts & pants) are in the laundry room hanging up and he said he doesn't mind. he helped me put shelves in the closets and then I got three cabinets with fabric in spare room.I also have fashion fabrics so they take up more room. Not counting what's in drawers. But I'm not buying fabric anymore so just working on what I have....But he has bought me to the quilt store if I wanted him too many many times he's good that way.....I paid for my own fabric but he gives me money at x-mas to do as I please with it....I've added one more cupboard like the ones with glass but that's all...

I don't hide mine either, hubby is fantastically supportive. I, like a few of you, have to put on the breaks him. He is the best!

My DH had an addition put on our house 14 X 20' for my sewing suite and has never ever complained about any of my purchases. He says whatever makes me happy makes him happy because he loves to see me happy. He is a keeper. We live with honesty in our home and that seems to work for us.

This is the most uplifting, time consuming topic. I love it! We are the lucky ones!!!!!!! (of course, my husband is better than your husband)
