Lay the mats between pieces of cardboard or foam board. Tape the edges so they won't slip out. Mark the wrapping how you want them shipped either upright or flat. Best wishes on your move.

If plywood is not an option how about between two layers of foam core presentation board. (Available at office supply stores. )

No joke -
this happened to me many years ago. Movers started in the kitchen and asked me to write my last name and the room on a box. I moved from NC to TX. Arrived in TX with every box labeled the same.
I moved mine myself. My large 36 X 60 very loosely rolled and smaller ones, flat. Unrolled immediately and laid flat with books on top.

When I moved I put my mats flat in the back of my SUV wrapped in furniture pads and they arrived just fine. Good luck on your move.

I would put them between your mattresses so they will be flat. Make sure the movers keep the box springs and mattress jammed together.

are you moving your refrigerator or stove? you could tape them to one side of the appliance. or to a matress/box spring. or a card table if you have one. or to the underside of a banquet table. if you taped it face down it would protect the cutting surface/upside. moving is fun!

I used to keep my cutting mat in my trunk all of the time. I put it between two piecs of thin plywood and used the big binder clips to keep the plywood together Used one on each side of the board and for your larger one use at least two on each side. I still have the same cutting boards after all of these years and they are flat.

When I moved the last time, I taped mine to the back of my dresser. Kept it flat and no damage to the paint. I just used masking tpape for the job.
