DH said he did that the other day - was out of town and checking out of his hotel. Went to grab his laptop bag, could not find it anywhere in his hotel room. Started panicking, thinking someone had stolen it and he was going to miss his flight - until he realized it was slung over his shoulder, all 15 pounds of it!

I had a doozy about a year ago. I have a little Brother my DH gave me about 7 years ago. Now keep in mind I've sewed EVERY DAY on this machine for 6 years. Took the bobbin out to wind it, cleaned it out while I was at it, blew the dust, oiled it, blah blah blah. Went to put the bobbin back in and could not find the bobbin case. Looked and looked and looked for about 2 weeks! Finally realized that machine DOES NOT HAVE A BOBBIN CASE. It's a drop-in bobbin.

These posts are so funny to read.
We're still searching for a coffee pot. A coffee pot! It's been MIA for over a year. We had set it aside in the downstairs area of our house and now we can't find it. The only person who was in that area was a carpet cleaner who had asked about our upstairs kitchen coffee pot. Maybe the kitchen pot was too big for him to whisk away? Who knows.
Well, I've put gifts away and lost track of them to find them months after Christmas.
Came upon a birthday check my MIL gave me. It was in a dresser drawer for years and years.

I am still searching for my "good" thimble and a package of needles which I KNOW I laid on the apron of the sewing machine last week. Usually, it is my glasses which are missing--piecefully, the old one

Yep, right where it belongs. I can't count how many times I've put something where it belongs and can't find it later.
