    Rachel,
Calll Amy at Brubakers and see what she has to offer. I have purchased three machines from them, 6600,8900,11000SE.They are the greatest. They have special sales on floor model and or show machines. Don't let any dealer you visit talk you into the 7700. I belong to the yahoo groups for both the 6500/6600 and the 7700/8900. Lots of complaints and problems on this group regarding the 7700. I know there are some happy owners and I am glad they are not having issues. The 8900 took the place of the 7700 as the newest quilting machine. I love my 6600, even though I use my 8900, the 6600 is a real workhorse of a machine. I like it so much, I bought one for use at the cabin. Best wishes, I hope you are sewing on the 6600 by sunset!

Our LQS stays open late one night a month - first Thursday. We have club that night but she also has one of her sales staff present to help any shoppers that might want to come in. It's great. She also has told any of her regular customers that she will happily stay late for us.

Wow, have a great time! I can't comment on the Janome brand, having never owned one, but my friend has one and she LOVES it! Good luck!

I got one from a friend for only $500! Just because it was for our quilting group from church and she wanted a bigger machine. We're very pleased with it.

From time to time I hear these complaints about the 7700 Horrizon, but nobody says , what is wrong with them.A year ago I bought one & so far love it, but when I hear all this ,it scares me.Would you please explain what is wrong with these machines? This is my third Janome.

Check with Brubaker's Sewing in New Holland - I got my 6600P from them - for $1200 = free shipping. They have sales running at several times of the year...I love that machine - good luck!!
