I'm SOOO excited and I just can't hide it!!!!!
Good Morning from the East Coast,
Just wanted to share with people who understand where I'm coming from. DD is staying with Mammy and Pap Pap this evening and DH is taking me sewing machine shopping!!!!! Can you tell I can't wait LOL? I've been doing a lot of research and found a Janome dealer that is within 30 minutes of where I live. Their sales flyer says they have the 6600P for $1499 which is what most used ones are going for on ebay so I think it is a pretty good deal. Any other model in this price range that you would recommend more than the 6600? We finally found a free evening and are going to test drive them tonight. Thanks for reading.
Hope you all have a great day!

I was at the Lancaster AQS show last year and test drove that machine. It is awesome, but I really fell in love with the next model up---the one with the red front. It has a huge bed so it'd be great for free motion quilting if you are wanting to do fmq. Often the dealers make super deals for you to buy the machine used to demo at the show, and if my memory is correct, I believe the dealer offered to sell it to me for $1,300. If you are near Brubakers, check them out---they offer sweet deals all the time. You can also get good deals on lightly used demo models at the dealer's stores. Brubaker's also has a website and will ship machines. I've never bought a machine from them, but they have a great reputation. Have fun shopping!

I bought my 6600P from a dealer for $1299 (it was new). That was 2 years ago. You should try to negotiate the price, or at least get them to throw in some goodies. I highly recommend the FMQ bobbin case ($25)--worth every penny. The 6600P is a wonderful machine!!
