I'm soooo excited!!!

Well, yesterday, made it to the hospital, with the homemade things. What a wonderful welcome! They were all out of the larger size baby quilts, so they welcomed the two that I had brought in.They loved the burp cloths and bibs, so I will be making more and bringing them in.They have plenty of knitted/crocheted hats and booties, so I can concentrate on making sewn things. It seems the one doing this sort of thing before me is older and finds she can't do this anymore, (divine intervention). You would be sadly surprised to find out how many new mothers don't have the means to get things for their new baby... It does my heart good to know that the things I make will make a difference!

what a wonderful idea, Sarasewing, about the larger sized bags. When speaking with them yesterday, they told me that the hospital delivers about 420 babies each year and if one stops and thinks about it, a great number of these mothers have nothing for their newborns! My mother (God rest her soul) always told me "You have a God-given talent, why don't you use it?" Okay, Mom, I'm trying.... Doing this gives me a warm and tingly feeling inside. Wahoooo!

I am sooo excited for you, too!
No one could ever pay you $$ for the satisfaction you get in the doing, but to KNOW that you have a place to send your largesse ... that is a BIG blessing! <wave>
And, yes ... Ziplock DOES make a TWO GALLON bag ... they are GRAND! ;-)
