Sorry, I got busy with other things....... I was a little disappointed because what I won was 25% off an order. I don't know about you but, that to me is not a 'prize'. I don't have anything extra in the purse right now and let them know that I would not be ordering by their due date (Dec 5th) and please give to another person. I have a return letter that it has been extended to end of January so I may enjoy my prize. I still won't use it, because I don't feel that is a 'prize'. Yes, I understand that the economy is tight right now and they need to make some money, but if they would have given me $5 or $10 bucks I would have added to it.

On the other hand I 'won' a $10.00 gift certificate on the shop hop in September. I used that one and ordered a little more than what I won. I purchased some pre-filled bobbins and a needle holder for my new 'toy'. First time I have used a shop hop 'prize' that I have won. This is one of the stores that had something I wanted.

I posted to Rocking Chair as follows - A little disappointed to learn that a Quiltboard.com member had "WON" a discount - - - would have been more productive to have $ amount or discount. This didn't seem like a win....

I emailed Rocking Chair Quilts the following:

It was quite disappointing to many of us on QuiltingBoard.com to have a member "win" a contest on your website, only to find out that her "win" was a 25% discount on quilting. As a professional long-arm quilter myself, it appears that you are just looking for more business. A true "win" here would be for you to quilt a quilt for the "winner" for free, not a bogus "you win but you have to spend to get anything".

But the Rocking Chair Quilts I sent the message to says she's not the one that had a contest...she just does quilting out of her home. Hmmmm...how many "Rocking Chair Quilts" are out there???

I emailed and got this reply - this seems fair to me - good response time from them...
"We host many contests throughout the year and give a variety of prizes. All prizes are clearly stated beforehand for each contest,
and this one was no different. The contest stated that one winner would be randomly drawn from the correct entries each week and
that each winner would win a coupon for 25% off one entire order which even included our discount fabrics (which are as low as
$1.99/yard). The coupons for this contest had a December expiration date which we did extend for Sharon to the end of January.
(The other winners had already redeemed their coupons.)

I'm glad you brought Sharon's disappointment to my attention, though. I had missed the thread about her winning on the quilt
board and her email to me was positive so I had no idea that she was disappointed with her prize. Thanks to your email, we have
decided that in the future we will offer an alternative for any percent off prizes such as something like
"$5.00 off or 25% off an entire order".

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention!

    Happy quilting!

I'm glad things have gotten resolved. This post had me not sleeping well for a couple of nights.
