Maybe they have a program for foster kids. I donate to our county foster program each year. These kids sometimes move about and only have these blankets to take with them.

What about donating them to cardiac units for adults or for children.

Contact the Department of Children Services in your area. They are the one's the pick up children from families of alledged child abuse and neglect. Frequently these kiddos have nothing with them. A nice quilt would be very comforting as they are being detained before placement.

Don't forget nursing homes but always check as they have special sizes for wheel chairs and most beds are twin then there are veterans hspitals----check with police stations when they have to remove children some wants quilts that can stay with the child there are many places homeless missions and the list just goes on

Nursing homes, children's hospitals, Wounded Warriors, women's shelters. There are so many worthy groups.

A girl in our guild made a quilt for the servicemen--each branch and sent the army one to the Dwight Eisenhower Library in Abilene, Ks. The other branches I don't know what she did with them, but they got to actual men serving.
I think any of the servicemen serving in Afghanstan, ect, would be delighted to receive, or even their families. Probably your congress-person could supply names, ect.
    Good idea.
