I take way to many to save them all. I choose the best and throw away the rest. I do have my DM's old ones from the 60's and 70's that I will always keep. I love going through them over and over and I do use some of the patterns from them and they look beautiful with the new modern fabrics. Remember it was not easy to find a large selection of fabrics back then and they had to use what they could find or use solids.

I keep all the old ones and at some quilt shows the bundle them in fives and sell them for a buck or two. I get my best patterns this way.

I have been taking quilting magazines since May of 1989. I would treasure them and refer to them often. It finally got to be a matter of space and I am now looking through them and saving the pages I like. Then, I bring them to my quilting groups and leave them to take what the want. If they want to see what I removed, they are welcome to look.
I am at the point of not subscribing, but might take Missouristarquiltcompany new magazine. So much to do, so little time.

OH wow ..I was given boxes of quilting magazines from a friend (who's mom died) and they are from the 70's to 2006 when she stopped quilting), LOVE taking the time to go through and mark them for future use in my bucket list!! LOL

One of my biggest regrets is having to get rid of the mags and even some old Q books--absolutely no more space. I saved what I could. I found that if I measured the templates on the patterns, I could duplicate most of them with rotary cutting techniques, so didn't have to trace each piece and cut separately. I remember the day I quit saving cereal boxes for template card board. What a relief!

That's what I had been thinking, too. Probably why I don't have any newer magazines, but I do love re-scanning the old ones.
