Question Insulbrite in potholders - double or single layer ?

I'm making a supply of patchwork potholders and using insulbrite. Double the insulbrite or is one layer sufficient ?

As previous posts have said, most will use only one layer of Insulbrite along with either 1 or 2 layers of 100% cotton batting.
