Cordelia, are you planning to use it for your RR?
It needs to be 24 inches

And finished, it measures 26.5 inches. I'm going to try it. You have to scroll down a bit. It's the last item on the page. There's a video there showing you how to make it from Brenda Henning. My speakers are shot, so I couldn't hear any of it, but I just watched. It seemed easy enough until she got to the "frame" part around it. That's going to be the sticking part for me I'm sure.

But, I think I'll do it like I did my carpenter wheel, black background with all bright batik colors.

Check it out. You can download the pdf files for the pattern if you like.[/quote

What a wonderful video! Thanks for sharing. I can see how you can adapt it to 24"

24 inches? Okay. I'll just leave the border off of it. Looks like it has some kind of 2 inch border on it after the half square triangles anyway.

I'll need to make it 24.5" then. That shouldn't be hard. I'll let you all put the borders on it!

I'm not comitted to it because I think that the "frame" around the circle star is going to confound me.

I couldn't hear what she was saying when she was explaining how to do it. I could only watch and guess.

She made it look easy, but I know better.

But, I like to use black background and bright batiks because the black makes the colors pop like you won't believe.

I don't want all my half square triangles to be the same color either. I'm going to do some fudging.

I prevailed through a nagging husband and a whining 1 year old hanging on my arm and a pouty 7 yr old to complete this center tonight. The colors appear brighter than they are in reality. Its a very dark burgundy and a dark green and the golds look more like yellow in the picture. It kinda looks Christmassy, but it isn't.

What do you all think? Should this be the "one? This is my first round robin, so I would appreciate some honest feedback.

    Beautiful, Collettakay.

It might also help if you would tell the folks what fabrics you used, if it's something you've had in your stash for years or if it's still out there somewhere in case someone might want to get some.
