Ironing board cover
#12
I used 3 layers of felt on the top and covered it with the silver ironing board fabric I purchased at Joann's . I used 1 layer of felt on the bottom to prevent snagging. I put this on a 2'X4' piece of 5/8" plywood. I either place this on top of my ironing board or a table when using.

I also used the Insulbrite (with the shiny side facing up toward the iron). Underneath it I put a layer of batting and above the Insulbrite, I used a heavy cotton (not as heavy as duckcloth) in a cream color. Although the printed fabric looks so pretty, I didn't want a print because I didn't want to confuse my eyes when working with quilt pieces.

I decided on two layers of cotton batting and a layer of the silver ironing board fabric. If I don't like it I will just add a layer of cotton fabric over the top of it. I used scraps for the first layer of batting and the second layer was just two pieces so it was nice to get rid of some of my batting scraps.
