I made a pressing board off of MSQC video. I love it and it last a long time.

I also have the wool pressing pad and love it. I purchased mine from Craftsy on sale. Mine is 12 x 18.

I too suggest a wool pad. I have one and love it and have never had a problem with odor. Since they are a little pricey it might not be something that she herself would splurge on - the best type of gift in my opinion.

the new "pressing pads" are very popular and expensive. If you are signed up with craftsy, they have everything for 50% off today thru 12/31. They had one of these mats. It is 18 x 12, sells for $55, now $27.50. Perhaps you can find someone with a Bluprint membership on Craftsy that can make the purchase for you.
