OK....that was a total bust! They had a few tubs of fabric but it wasn't quilting cottons. They had the tubs shrink wrapped and you couldn't look in them. I didn't see a single bit of cotton prints....it was all clothing fabrics. Unless the good stuff was hiding....I didn't want to take a chance. Some tub were $10, $20, and $30 but site unseen I didn't take a chance. The sale is tomorrow too so I may go over and see if it's still there....being the final day of the sale maybe they will let me go through it? Will have to wait and see....sorry to disappoint everyone....LOL Will post pics if I end up with a treasure.

It's still fun---garage sales are like treasure hunts and many times I've been disappointed, too. But, there are always those special days when you find really good stuff!

So hope you find some really nice quilting fabric!

Several of the ladies in the quilting guild I belong to have de-stashed due to various reasons - and I make sure I'm there at their sales. I have come away with bargains I couldn't believe!
Other than that - never have run across any estate sales/garage sales that offer good quality fabric.

Be sure to follow up with a post..!!!

It's always hit or miss, but I like to think of it like a treasure hunt too.

Aww I'm sorry you didn't find anything good...you should have been with me yesterday! Went to a fabric garage sale, got there just before 10 a.m. with 25 other quilters. There was coffee and muffins on a little table to hydrate you and get your carb levels up. Right on time they opened the gate. Each fabric piece was rolled up and marked according to size. I was discerning but speedy. When I couldn't carry any more, I put it in a pile behind the register and went back for more, stopping only to grab another bite-sized chocolate chip cookie! I left the coffee alone as I didn't have enough hands to hold a cup! After about a half hour there was hardly anything left, but a few ladies were still wandering up the driveway.
I staggered away with 107 yards of quilty fabric at $1 a yard! And its all usable and pretty!!
