Have you heard of "make do" quilts? That's where you find a fabric that matches as closely as possible and make do. I recently saw an article in a magazine about a quilter who collects these and also uses this on her own quilts. She says it gives the quilt personality. The examples she used for the magazine were charming and in some cases you had to look hard to find the make do fabric.

I was gonna say that at least you are able to get more of the fabric. I have had to rethink more than one quilt because the fabric I was short of was no longer available. Sometimes it has only been a matter of weeks! Ugh!
