Today I am helping DS move. I have about 6 quilts warming up in the bullpen though.

I am working on the wool Enchanted Pennies Wall Hanging from the Pennies from Heaven book on page 57. I made it larger and added a phrase to fit my guild's challenge "So Fortunate." I am "Sew Fortunate" for all the quilting friends I have gathered along the way.

I just finished pinning a preschooler nap roll together for when they take naps in school... it is John Deere fabric with batting and fleece for the outside - and it is so easy to make - I can't believe my little great nephew is already entering preschool - 3 years old! gee that seems young, but then, how times have changed since our children went 40+ years ago - they began with kindergarten.

My Guild had a sew in. There were 18 of us sewing & quilting all day Friday and Saturday. We had brief demos and lots of fun. The best part 3 hubbies cooked and served breakfast & lunch for us ladies. We do this each summer!

I got a top done today for my G-daugher B-day in Sept! I had trouble with it and DH helped to get it lined up right with a chalk line! I just hope she likes it she will be 3!
Will get it ironed and the back ready so can go to the LA in Tuesday!

I've been dying to sew/quilt but have had too much yard work.
And I should be quilting, not piecing anyway.
And I need a good block of time to trim the 16.5-inch squares down to 16.5 inches ... turns out some are actually 17 or close to it.
This step always scares me 'cause there is no turning back.
I want no interruptions or distractions.

After each project I try to clean up like vaccum and etc before starting next project. I am so messy. Did that last Saturday and got carried away and straightened the whole sewing room, now I am lost. With it in order I don't know where anything is. It looks better anyway.

I am teaching my DIL how to sew. We are starting with something simple - a couple of pillow cases for my 3 yr old DGD to cover her pillow for nap time at preschool.

I embroidered 9 labels for the quilts for the servicemen deployed with my daughter - tomorrow we will piece the labels into the backings and start the quilting! Everyone who donated blocks for each quilt has their first name and state/country on the label...thank you QB members!!!
