Thanks everyone. We knew it was coming (she had non-hodgkins lymphoma), but didn't expect it to be as quick as it was. She is in a better place and we know that, but she had been my mother-in-law for 40 years, so we were close. I was the daughter she never had. She just had 2 sons. But she's not suffering now and that's what matters. We will miss her, heal and go on.

I am sewing a quilt block swap "failure" - I was in the half-way through process of making 35 blocks to swap when we got word our granddaughter was deciding to come. I could have rushed through the rest of the blocks with plenty of time to spare, but I had a 50-50 chance of not being able to mail them out in time with the drive out-of-town for the baby ... so I just put them down and went to watch my granddaughter be born.... which actually happened three weeks later because she put herself in "park" when the OB showed up. Kaitlyn is her mommy's Baby #3, so Mommy was certain. Oh, well -
Here's the photo below - some of you may klike the colors, others will gag - please know it was an "Ugly Batik Block Swap." I didn't care for the gold/green batik fabric, but I figured, "Make them anyway, someone will ove it." I love the rust-red batik, though, and the turquoise and purple.
